View ESXi server virtual machines details

Unisphere supports the discovery of vCenters or ESXi servers (using a read-only user) and integrates the information into Unisphere. VMware information is connected to its storage extents, and enables seamless investigation of any storage-related issues.

About this task

This tabbed view contains details about the virtual machines (VMs) under the ESXi Server.

Steps

  1. Select VMware > vCenters and ESXi from the menu bar on the left side of the screen.
  2. Select a server virtualization card.
  3. Select the ESXi name from the list view or select the ESXi checkbox and click the virtual machine count hyperlink that is displayed on the panel on the right.
  4. Click the Virtual Machines tab.

    The following properties are displayed:

    • VM Name—VM name
    • CPU Count—CPU count
    • Total Memory (MB)—Total memory
    • OS Name—Operating system name
  5. Select a VM to view the following properties:
    • VM Name—VM name
    • Powered—Indication if powered
    • CPU Count—CPU count
    • Total Memory (MB)—Total memory
    • OS Name—Operating system name
    • IP Address—IP address
    • Virtual Disks—A number that indicates the number of virtual disks of this virtual machine. Click the link to display all the disks associated with the virtual machine.
  6. Select Provision RDM to provision an RDM into an existing virtual machine.
    The following inputs are required:
    • Number or RDMs
    • Size
    • The unit that is used to measure capacity (TB, GB, MB, or cylinders)
    • System name
  7. Click Add to provision additional RDMs or click OK.
    All disks under the virtual machine are displayed. The following properties are listed:
    • Label - The virtual disk label
    • Virtual Device Node - The controller the Virtual Disk belongs to
    • Disk Mode - The disk mode
    • UUID - The virtual disk UUID
    • Node - The virtual disk controller ID
    • Filename - The virtual disk filename
    • Capacity (GB) - The Virtual Disk capacity in GB
